The Homecoming - Chapter 3

     It was three months later.  On a hot and still Sunday afternoon, Sudha had a sudden urge to paint.  She was alone in the house.  Her parents had gone to a friend’s place for lunch.  Sanju having gone to Bombay to spend the week-end at his sister’s place, Sudha was bereft of his company too.
     Thus she put up her easel, fixed the canvas on it, got her paints and brushes, a mug of water and a palette.  She knew what she was about to paint – the portrait of a mother and her child.
