The Homecoming - Chapter 2

                                                             Excerpt
     Her parents looked at each other, surprised.  That something must be really important, both of them thought silently, for her to be sitting with them after dinner.
     On other days, their darling daughter always rushed off to catch up with some work, after dinner.  She would be either preparing for a speech, rehearsing her lines for the play or; off for a walk with her friends.
     Her father’s lips curved into a smile as he thought about her busy schedule.  In spite of that, she always found time to be with her parents.  She kept them up to date with all her activities, invited their opinions and never talked about the so-called ‘generation gap’ about which, youngsters of her age, always complained.
     She really was a gem.  He was very proud of her.  At this thought, his smile broadened even more.
