EXCERPT
She’d been just
training her eyes on the wild shock of dark curls on his head, slightly graying
at the sides, when his words broke her appraisal.
“Well, well, what
a good day this is! Will someone pinch
me and assure that I’m not dreaming?
Vasudha, it is you, isn’t it?
What are you doing here? When did
you shift to this city? Why didn’t you
let me know you were here?”
His volley of
questions bounced off its target as Vasudha deliberately gave him a blank stare
and stepped past him and walked right ahead, without a backward glance.
As his companion
looked at him questioningly, Pramod stood with mouth agape, shaking his head as
if in a trance.
