The Trophy Wife - An Excerpt

                                                              Foreword

Marriage is an institution that has withstood the test of time. While some may argue about its necessity and go in for a live-in relationship, others swear by the trustworthiness and security of a happy married life.

Some may even have an open marriage wherein both the partners are free to do as they please. Then there are others who are in an arranged marriage and yet others who sign a pre-nuptial agreement, ready for a divorce; if things don’t work out.

The two partners in a marriage, husband and wife, are supposed to be like the two wheels of a cart. If one wheel slides or comes off, the cart will collapse.

There is therefore much ado, while selecting a life-partner! Nothing but a perfect match will do for the fastidious one while the not-so-fastidious one settles for an average match, probably compromising for reasons of his or her own!

Well, each to his or her own (partner)!

This story is about a fastidious guy who goes to extreme lengths to find his ideal life-partner.

Read on to find out what happens next….

  An Excerpt

After entering in his credit card details, she checked out of the portal and handed over the card to him. “There, that has been taken care of. We’ll get it tomorrow evening, just in time to visit your parents.”

He looked at her, astonished. Had she gone off her mind? His parents were millions of miles away, in India!

“Excuse me?” he asked her with a very bewildered expression on his handsome face. His right eyebrow arched upwards in askance.

“Oh come on Akshay! In this digital age, we needn’t go anywhere to meet anyone. Just open our laptops and speak with anyone over the webcam or through videoconferencing.”

“Surely, I don’t need to tell you that?” she stressed on the word ‘you’ till he squirmed. She had caught him there. Would he have to be constantly on guard with her?
