It was a
honeymoon with a difference. Dibakar and Sharmila Banerjee, the newly-weds were
accompanied by Dibakar’s parents Shyamal and Madhumita to the Queen of
hill-stations, Shimla. There was nothing that poor Sharmila could do about this
undesirable situation, though she’d have definitely done anything to prevent
her in-laws from accompanying them on this ‘once-in-a -lifetime’ trip. You see,
Dibakar was a Mama’s boy and a Baba’s
too! He couldn’t live without his parents. They meant the world to him.
While Sharmila appreciated the fact that Dibakar was such a good son, surely even good sons went alone with their brides for their honeymoon; she rued. She tried to wean him away from his disastrous decision by using her feminine wiles. But his strong familial affection withstood that tantalizing threat!
