The Long-distance Relationship - Chapter 6

                                                                   Excerpt
Amol tried to reason it out with Parikrama. “Pari, just wait a minute. Are you ready to throw away your relationship with Pranay, just for some stupid misunderstanding? I’m not ready to see both of you so miserable and vengeful. If you act spitefully, you’ll be cutting off your nose to spite your face! This is what I’ll tell Pranay too, if you want me to, that is! The ball is entirely in your court, Pari. I’ll not interfere if you don’t want me to. But I really do feel that you mustn’t give up so easily. It’ll only mean that Samidha’s win has been a cakewalk! Do you want her to win? Where’s your fighting spirit?”
Slowly Parikrama said, “You’re right Amol. I will not give up. Thanks for your support. You may do whatever you feel is right for both of us. I know that I can trust you.”

“Hi Pranay. This is Pooja. How are you? How’s your job? Hectic?”
As Pooja’s sweet and chirpy voice rang down the line, Pranay, who was used to hearing Parikrama’s melodious but firm tone on the receiver, said, “Fine, thank you. Hope all is well at your end too.”
He was already missing the lively banter with Pari. He couldn’t be his usual self with Pooja as he barely knew her. He had just seen her photos on Facebook. She appeared young and beautiful. That’s all. He didn’t feel connected to her! Hence he had to hold these inane ‘shop-talk’ conversations with her, at his wits’ end, figuring out what to say to her next! He just couldn’t easily converse with her.
