“It has been 15 minutes, since I’ve
been ringing the bell, Pari. What were you upto? Day-dreaming or sleeping?”
demanded Sushma crossly.
“I’m sorry dear. I slept deeply. Do
come in and make yourself comfortable while I make some tea for us,” Parikrama
said, in an apologetic tone.
Sushma grinned and sat down on the
couch. She was a plump and cheerful girl of around 25. She couldn’t be cross
with anyone for more than a few moments. And Pari was her best friend. After
having tea and some snacks, Parikrama inquired anxiously, “So how did it go?”
“So how did what go?” Sushma
parroted. She wanted to first pull Pari’s leg and have some fun.
“You know what I’m talking about.
C’mon tell me.” Parikrama blurted. “I can’t wait to hear it. Please don’t try
to be funny now. I’m serious.”
Seeing her murderous expression,
Sushma relented and said,
