On
the day of her party, (she had carefully chosen a Sunday so as to not spoil her
work-schedule) she phoned up the caterers and again reminded them about their
schedule. Then she pampered herself with a facial and shampooed her hair. Her well-scrubbed
face shone and her hair appeared lustrous, as she dressed up in a cotton-silk
pink sari with a broad green and gold border. She felt and looked gorgeous. She
accessorized her attire with small gold studs and a pendant on a chain. The
studs and pendants were shaped liked tiny roses. She wore her matching bracelet
and watch, grabbed her black clutch, locked the door and went to the lawns. It
was six p.m.
