The Homecoming - Chapter 5


                                                                            Excerpt
     
     
     She observed that her mother too, was weeping.  Trying to console her, Sudha said “I’m sorry for my outburst, Mummy.  I know you didn’t do it on purpose.  Let’s forget this incident.”
     And they did just that.
     Over the next few days, it became more and more clear to Sudha that things could never be the same again.  Except for her two close friends, Sanju and her parents, no one spoke to her properly.  It was as an invisible but tangible barrier had been erected between her and the rest of her friends of yesteryears.
     No matter how much she tried to convince herself that the people who really cared for her were all the people she really needed; she felt lonely, unwanted!
