The Puzzle


        He entered the room of his ex-girlfriend quietly and tiptoed to her bed.  As he snuggled into the covers with her, she sleepily murmured, “You’re back so early dear.  Weren’t you supposed to come tomorrow morning?”
        
        “I wanted to surprise you.”
        
        “Why is it so pitch-dark?” she wondered aloud.
        
        “There’s no electricity,” he whispered.
